2023-11-24 Rerun commentary: In the old joke, the scientist has both a wife and a mistress, so he can tell his wife that he's with his mistress, tell his mistress that he's with his wife, and go spend more time in the lab.

This is unrealistic, of course, as it presupposes that the scientist can be socially adept and charismatic enough to attract the attentions of two women.
