Comic #874

1 Shakespeare: {holding out a sheaf of paper} Ophelia, I've finished another chapter. Would you mind looking over it for me?
1 Ophelia: Uh... sure, Will.
2 Ophelia: [reading] With Aragorn out of the equation, Éowyn spent her hours in the Halls of Healing seeking solace in the company of another.
3 Ophelia: Through shared experiences and similiar strength of character, she found herself charmed by a son of Denethor, the younger brother of Boromir...
4 Ophelia: ... and younger brother of Faramir, the altogether more cultivated, valiant, and dashing third son, Willimir.

If you don't get this immediately, suffice it to say that in the original books and the films, Denethor has but two sons.

2014-08-14 Rerun commentary: Will really is an old romantic at heart. He's written himself in as the love interest for several characters now. I guess that's part of the attraction of being a writer.

One wonders if the real Shakespeare inserted himself in as a Mary Sue in any of his plays. I guess not in the tragedies, but some of the comedies would work.
