2 Jane Goodall: This is not good.
3 Steve: I'll wrestle 'im! Will that help?
4 Jane Goodall: Only if you lose.

See, running in a situation like this is highly overrated. Much better to engage in witty banter. The master of this is Edmund Blackadder, at least in his last three incarnations in seasons 2, 3, and 4 of Blackadder. Here is a man who, when faced with prolonged, painful, and inevitable death at the hands of sadistic enemies, maintained the presence of mind to come out with scathingly witty insults and searingly amusing observations.

I'd like to think that when I am falling to my doom off a crumbly limestone cliff I won't be saying, "Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh!!!!" but rather, "You know, they really should put that fence further back."

2024-01-20 Rerun commentary: I'm beginning to get annoyed by that old generated sky background that I used to use before I refined the process in Photoshop. I'm not going to bother looking it up, but it's probably at least another 1000 strips before the change happens...
