Comic #67

1 Motti: Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader.
2 Motti: Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you clairvoyance enough to find the Rebels' hidden fort...
3 Vader: Did you say data tapes?
4 Vader: We have the ability to destroy a planet and tape is the best backup medium we have?

2012-01-16 Rerun commentary: In retrospect, of course they use tapes to back up data. It was a long time ago, after all.

Or perhaps it's just old terminology. They still use the word "tapes" even though the physical medium has moved on to memory crystals or whatever, in much the same way as people still talk about "dialling" a phone number, even though nobody has had a phone with a dial on it for decades now.

Or have they?
