1 Alvissa: You’ve never talked about your background, Mordekai.
2 Alvissa: Is it because you grew up on the streets, surviving by your wits, and you made a lot of enemies?
3 Alvissa: Or are you ashamed of your humble beginnings and want to leave the past behind?
4 Mordekai: Or I could be a wronged noble, biding my time until I can I reclaim my rightful status!
4 Alvissa: Oh, a career criminal!

I was struggling with the last panel here for ages, until I finally decided to just go with a half-hearted pseudo-joke and continue on the process of photographing and assembling the comic. Then when it came time to paste in the dialogue for the last panel I came up with this idea, which I'm a lot happier with.

I've already deleted the placeholder punchline, which was something like:

Mordekai: Let's just say, Alvissa, that my past is a locked chest and even I don't have the lockpicks necessary to open it.

Now that I think about it, I could have modified it to something like:

Mordekai: Let's just say, Alvissa, that my past is a locked chest. Or at least it looks like a locked chest - it's actually a mimic.
