4 Jane Goodall: Sure, no problem. Say, whatever happened to that jerkwad Steve you were dating?

The bun on Jane's hair is a blob of Blu-Tack(TM). In post-production (fancy term for when I threw it together in my graphics editor) I retouched the grey LEGO^® hair to make it the same hue as the Blu-Tack, giving her that wonderful blue-rinse look.

I also want to say I think LEGO^® should make smaller telephone handset pieces.

2012-10-10 Rerun commentary: Throughout the entire run of the comic, I used the same technique to recolour Jane's hair to match the colour of the blob of Blu-Tack on the back of it in every single panel in which she appears. I don't even want to think about how many times that means I did that particular bit of Photoshop manipulation.
