I'd landed at Berlin Airport and was trying to figure out which bus to take from the terminal to get to my hotel. I tried asking a man at an information stand and he said a whole bunch of stuff which I didn't understand. I had to interrupt and say that I didn't speak German. At which point he exclaimed, "I was speaking English!"
Yep, his German accent fooled me into thinking he was speaking German!
