2012-06-14 Rerun commentary: I really went in for showing off alternate versions of the comics at this point in the strip's history. Eventually I gave up this practice, otherwise you'd probably have seen alternate versions of about half the strips over the years. I quite frequently changed the joke or the punchline at the last minute while assembling the comic.

In retrospect, it's probably better that I threw away the old versions, since what I replaced them with tended to be funnier.
