Comic #227

1 Haken: Actually, I can read Ancient Egyptian.
1 Hitler's Brain: Vell then! Read it!
2 Haken: [hieroglyphs]
2 Erwin: Uh, Herr Kolonel...
3 Erwin: {a huge spinning vortex opens up behind them} Die words are opening a vortex!
3 Haken: {as he's drawn towards the opening} Mein Gott! It's pulling me in!
4 Erwin: {as Haken disappears} Herr Kolonel! Mein Führer! He's gone into die vortex!
4 Hitler's Brain: Vell... That sucks.

2012-07-20 Rerun commentary: I generated the vortex effect using the POV-Ray raytracing software. It's the interior of a torus, textured with a swirled rainbow pattern. I cut the resulting image out and inserted it into the photos. It creates a very cool effect, if I do say so myself.

Colonel Haken is speaking in the freeware font Nahkt.
