I have no idea where that circle of different coloured light visible in the second last panel comes from. It doesn't seem to fit the pattern of lighting I used to illuminate the scene at all.

2017-04-22 Rerun commentary: There were a few theories bandied about in the forums when this comic was first published. I think it might be the shadow of my own head, cast by the overhead ceiling light of the room. I used a blue "daylight" bulb there for a while, so the light it casts is bluish, and the shadow of something blocking it would appear to have a reddish cast.

You can see in the first panel of the third row that the red area has moved relative to the skeleton figures - and (behind the scenes trick) the skeletons haven't actually moved at all. This is because they are ridiculously hard to set up in a walking pose like this, and if one falls over often the whole lot of them go like dominoes. So once I get them stable, I tend to take multiple shots from different angles, rather than reposition them between every shot. The red area is also not visible at all in panels 2 and 4 of the same row. So it's clearly moving around, which supports the idea that it's the shadow of a moving object (namely me).

You can also see the red shadow in panel 3 of the first row, but not panel 1 - which again has the figures unmoved for the previously explained reason.
