Comic #3854

1 Ishmael: ... and they abducted my cat, Moby Tom!
2 Elspeth: Uh huh. The "real" Martians.
2 Ishmael: Yes!
3 Elspeth: Are you just making this story up to have an excuse to talk to me?
4 Ishmael: That... thought never occurred to me.
4 Elspeth: Well... I can believe that much.

I just had a look at this comic as I started writing this up and found myself wondering, "Wait, why does the guy behind Ishmael in panel 3 have red epaulettes?"

Then I realised it's the peak of Ishmael's cap.

Phew. The only character I'm aware of in IWC who wears epaulettes is Colonel Haken. White ones.

EDIT: And Captain Long Tom Short, who has brown ones.
