2018-10-23 Rerun commentary: Captain Ponsonby has a feather in his cap to indicate his rank. Because it's difficult showing it any other way with these figures and their identical torsos.

According to Wikipedia: "Prior to the 1740s, Royal Navy officers and sailors had no established uniforms, although many of the officer class typically wore upper class clothing with wigs to denote their social status."

So I guess Ponsonby uses a feather instead of a wig.
