1 Grey Seer: The last known owner of the key to this chest was your father, Captain Medium Tom Short.
2 Long Tom: Arrr! He be leavin' on a plunderin' expedition to the Far East when I be but a babe, and never be returnin'!
3 Grey Seer: You must track down your father...
3 Long Tom: But he be dead!
3 Grey Seer: ... by going back in time!
4 Long Tom: What? How?!
4 Ponsonby: Don't worry. We British know all about that.

I was going to write that I wasn't really sure how the Grey Seer knew that, but then I realised:

1. He's a seer.
2. That's what seers do.
3. I introduced a seer specifically so he could know that.

Second-guessing yourself can be entertaining at times.
