Comic #1590

1 {scene: Somewhere in the Caribbean, it is a pitch black night, pierced only by the faint ghostly lanterns on board the British galleon Anatotitan.}
1 Ponsonby: What are we doing here, Mister Mate? Sailing our ship across this inky blackness?
2 Ponsonby: Chasing after pirates of the Caribbean to retrieve a map leading to some dead man's chest?
3 {beat}
4 Mate: At least it's not the end of the world.

I'm sorry. But I'm still (as I type this) looking forward to the imminent release of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

2017-07-12 Rerun commentary: Well, I didn't end up liking At World's End as much as the first two films in the series, though I found it entertaining enough. And since this comic was first published there have been two other Pirates of the Caribbean films released: On Stranger Tides, and Dead Men Tell No Tales. It almost seems like they're making them faster than I can get through making comics!
