Comic #2712

1 Young Adam: The Armour of Achilles! Forged by Hephaestus himself! And it's right here in this room? It's my favourite martial artefact!
2 Ishmael: No, all the Martian artefacts are stored where I'm taking you next.
3 Young Jamie: But Adam, wasn't Achilles almost invulnerable? What sort of armour would he need?
4 Young Adam: Solid bronze heel plates.

Hephaestus was the Greek god of craftsmen and blacksmiths, and by extension technology, and also of volcanoes. Having your armour forged by the god ofblacksmiths himself would usually be seen as a pretty good way to ensure that the armour would properly protect you.

Unfortunately, it didn't protect Achilles in the one place he really needed it.
