2 Alvissa: A culture of barge people ply their wares up and down the river. We should be able to flag down a barge and travel upriver with them.
3 Mordekai: Well until we see one, let's walk upstream along the bank so we're still making progress.
4 Lambert: That makes sense. How fast do these barges travel, anyway?
4 Alvissa: About walking pace.

I always liked the idea of a whole itinerant culture of nomadic people, somewhat similar to gypsies, who lived on river barges and travelled to and fro across a great fantasy continent.

I think we might actually be starting to learn more about the campaign world in which these characters live.
